Story
Clare Beauchamp Randall, a World War II nurse, mysteriously travels back in time to 1743 in Scotland. There, she meets a brave highlander and is drawn into an epic rebellion. Moore (the series’ creator), his crew decided to keep the Gaelic words instead of translating them into English. This preserves the first-person narrative by showing Clare’s inability to understand Gaelic.
In several episodes, the characters say “OK” to each other
The idea was suggested by producer David Brown, who said he saw something similar in the film Skin Deep (1998), a foreign alternative film starring actor and singer Gustavo Goulart. ; An American term that only began to be used in the 19th century. The theme song changes from season to season to reflect what is happening in the story. In the first half of season 2 (which is set in France), some of the lyrics are in French.

In the second half of season 2 (which is mostly about preparing for war), a militaristic drum is added to the opening theme. During season 3, tribal drums were added, as much of the season is set in the West Indies. In season 4, bluegrass fiddle and banjo are added, and some of the lyrics are sung with a Southern accent, as the season is mostly set in America. But oh my god, the beginning of season 3 was a drag
I was late to discover this series and managed to get through season 7A in a month. The first 2 seasons feel like a completely different show, it keeps me hooked and hungry for one more episode. I know a lot of people don’t like Richard, but the man I love as Roger brings realism to the character for me. But Sophie looks like an acting student trying too hard to play a spoiled child.
Absolutely the wrong actress for the role
Her scenes are downright painful to watch, and there’s no chemistry between her and Richard and the guy whose idea it was to have that terrible accent?
